Good Luck, Darren Beachley!
Saturday evening, January 31st, I served as MC for an evening with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver in Taylorsville, NC. It was the last gig for the band with Darren Beachley. Darren has spent the last three years as a member of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver-starting on bass and lead and tenor vocals, then switching to guitar at the departure of Jamie Dailey in the Summer of 2007. It was a near capacity crowd in the 950+ auditorium. As the evening progressed, we were introduced to Beachley's replacement, Darren McGuire-a vocalist from western Kentucky. Darren Beachley has big plans for the future, which have already started coming together. He has assembled some incredible musicians to join him on his next musical endeavour. Terry and I think a lot of Darren and his family and wish him the best of luck! He promises an interview soon on 'Knee-Deep In Bluegrass' to disclose all the information on the band that will soon be hitting the Bluegrass circuit!~CB
