This past Saturday, September 6, 2008, the 2nd Annual High Country Bluegrass Festival in Boone, NC, was held. It was a great day of Bluegrass Music with Dailey & Vincent, Blue Highway, The Infamous Stringdusters, Sure Fire, The Cockman Family, Southern Accent and Steve Lewis and Friends. I served as MC. Terry hosted a banjo workshop, along with his buddy, Jason Burleson of Blue Highway. Adam Haynes and Alan Johnson conducted a fiddle workshop. There were campers, jam sessions, great food...all the things that make a festival loads of fun. Among the three headliners, they are up for a total of 18 IBMA Awards next month. Even though dark clouds came over on three different occassions, it did not rain once. It was quite windy in the morning...but temperature-wise, we couldn't have asked for any better. Kenny Johnson and his wife, Tammy, worked very hard over the past year, putting this show together. Terry and I would like to thank them for including us on their line-up. And I would like to also thank Dailey and Vincent for inviting me to sing 'Pathway of Teardrops' on stage with them. It was a real treat. We are already looking forward to next year. Enjoy the pictures!~CB
