Such A Rewarding Time In Bluegrass

Terry and I have just returned to our room after the 19th Annual IBMA Awards Show and a quick trip down to B. B. King's for The Del McCoury Band after party. What a special night at the Ryman Auditorium. It was my great honor to have been invited by the leadership of the IBMA to serve as producer, along with Ned Luberecki, for this year's show. Prior to the show, the nominees reception was held in the ball room. Red Wine, a wonderful Bluegrass Band from Italy, entertained as we had a few minutes to visit with and congratulate this year's nominees. Terry, Ed, Jay and I shared a table with Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Cannon. Terry and I also enjoyed a visit with Katy Daley, along with John Lawless and Brance Gillihan of The Bluegrass Blog, on the Red Carpet!

The Awards Show got underway with an energetic performance of 'Lovin' Pretty Women' with The Steep Canyon Rangers. Dailey and Vincent were certainly the big winners of the evening....well, actually...Bluegrass Music was the big winner of the evening. A truly special night.

Bluegrass FanFest gets underway Friday and continues through Sunday here at the Nashville Convention Center. Terry will be spending a good part of his day with Janet and Todd and all the folks from Deering Banjos at their booth in the exhibition center. Earlier this week, Deering Banjos released the Terry Baucom Model. It is a beautiful instrument and sounds too cool for words!

More in a day or so. Thanks for reading!~CB
