The Red White & Bluegrass Festival-A Huge Success!

July 1-4, an incredible festival was held here in North Carolina-The Red White and Bluegrass Festival! I served as MC and had a wonderful time introducing some of the very top bands in the field of Bluegrass. In addition to the music, the food was great...a variety of vendors sold their wares...campers enjoyed jamming in the woods...children played together...things ran smoothly...everything that makes for a very enjoyable event. Gary Leonhardt, Director of the Morganton Recreation and Parks Department heads up the festival and has a great staff helping. Mike Ramsey keeps backstage rolling smoothly and a host of volunteers see to every little details. The sun was hot on us during the day, but not one drop of rain fell during the entire festival (which for a multi-day event, is almost unheard of!) Highlight performances for me, personally, were: Mountain Heart with Tony Rice and Terry Baucom, The Del McCoury Band, Dailey & Vincent, The Seldom Scene, Lost & Found, Marty Raybon & Full Circle, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Larry Sparks and The Lonesome Ramblers....oh, the list goes on and on!

I hope you enjoy a few pictures from the festival (courtesy of Mike Lane, Andrea Evans, Laura Ridge Sykes and Laine Snyder)

Plans are already underway for next year's event....July 1-4, 2011...and I hope you can join us!~CB
