Knee-Deep PLAYLIST, Randall Franks, Special Guest

Actor, comedian, musician...these are a few words that would describe my guest on Knee-Deep In Bluegrass. He played officer Randy Goode on the television series, "In The Heat Of The Night"...but, he also played fiddle for Bill Monroe and Jim & Jesse...and remains an active part of the Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel scene. Randall Franks talks about his early desire to be an entertainer and how God opened those doors for him.

FarmFest at Farmington Dragway in two weeks!

Since last July, I have been hard at work on a new Bluegrass Festival in North Carolina: FarmFest at Farmington Dragway. I have been meeting with our wonderful committee: Don, Jonny and Brian (The owners of Farmington Dragway) and Patti Ann Lynch (PAL Marketing, Inc.) The festival is April 11 and 12. We are excited with the talented Bluegrass Bands coming to entertain: Steep Canyon Rangers, Cadillac Sky, Lou Reid & Carolina, Terry Baucom's Super Jam, Kenny & Amanda Smith Band and Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain. We will also have 2 groups of young people performing: JAM-Junior Appalachian Musicians and the Snyder Family Band. Two clogging teams will entertain between bands on Saturday, April 12th: Clog Carolina and the South Fork Cloggers. In addition to the music, there will be food, crafts, classic cars, vintage farm equipment, a children's area and camping. We are praying for great weather and an awesome time in Farmington, NC April 11 and 12!
