Earl Scruggs Visits The Studio

Earl Scruggs, along with his sons, Gary and Randy, were in Charlotte to appear as guests on The Big Show with John Boy & Billy - who distribute Knee-Deep In Bluegrass through Premiere Radio Networks. It was a fun time watching and listening to a true music legend. Earl Scruggs' banjo playing has been a tremendous influence to generations of musicians. On the show, the interview was great. A couple of songs from the CD 'Earl Scruggs with Family & Friends-The Ultimate Collection-Live at the Ryman' were featured. Earl and Randy even played a tune for us - "Fireball Mail". I will have some video to post in a few days.

I hope you have made plans to join us Saturday, April 11, 8pm, at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte for "Earl Scruggs with Family and Friends", presented by John Boy & Billy and Knee-Deep In Bluegrass. We are looking forward to an awesome evening!

We have tickets for the concert but are wondering who will be performing with Earl. Do you have any insight?

In addition to Earl Scruggs' sons, Randy and Gary, he will be joined by Hoot Hester on fiddle. There is a pool of talented guitar players that participate in these shows, based on their availability. They include Albert Lee, John Jorgenson and Jon Randall. There may be other surprises, too. In any event, it should prove to be an awesome evening with a true music legend. I hope you enjoy the show!~CB
